Lakers win in OT

Jon Carlson’s point blast in overtime propelled the Fort Frances Lakers to a 4-3 victory over the Dryden Ice Dogs here Friday night.
With Len Pelletier off for slashing at the start of the extra frame, the Lakers had some extra space to work with, which set the stage for Carlson’s heroics.

Patrick Sofer led the Lakers offensively with a pair of power-play goals, with Jacob Nolan assisting on both.
Colton Spicer scored a nice goal on a breakaway in the first period to get the Lakers rolling early, and also assisted on Carlson’s overtime winner.
The Lakers (30-15-1-2) now enjoy a seven-point lead over the Ice Dogs heading into tomorrow night’s game here between those same two squads.
The Lakers then will hit the road Wednesday to take on the Minnesota Wilderness in Cloquet.
