Muskie girls winless at tourney

Despite putting in a strong effort throughout the tournament, the Muskie girls’ hockey team was unable to capture a win at the Female World Sport School Challenge in Winnipeg last week.
After dropping their first two games in Group “A’ action, the black-and-gold fell 14-3 to eventual champion Edge School for Athletes (Alberta) in their final round-robin game Friday afternoon.

Shelby Tymkin netted a pair of second-period goals and also assisted on Amber Jourdain’s marker late in third to lead Fort High.
Then in their final game of the tournament Saturday morning, the Muskies lost 5-2 to the Banff Hockey Academy in the seventh-place game.
Shilo Beck had a goal and an assist in that one, with Jessica Coran notching the other goal.
Next up for the Muskies is a one-game, winner-take-all NorWOSSA semi-final showdown against the Dryden Eagles tonight at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
The winner will meet the Kenora Broncos in a two-game, total-goal NorWOSSA final, which is slated to get underway Wednesday.
