Join Voyageurs’ education specialist Teri Tucker this Sunday (Jan. 29) from 2-4 p.m. at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center for an afternoon of fun and learning.
The program begins inside with a short talk about how researchers use snow tracking skills to look for animals within Voyageurs National Park.
Learn about efforts to look for the elusive Canada lynx—and how you can help.
After learning to recognize some common animal tracks, join Tucker for a snowshoe walk on the Oberholtzer Trail to test your skills while looking for animal tracks in the snow (snowshoes provided).
Visitors are encouraged to come early and browse through the museum and bookstore, or check out the new winter displays in the interactive area, strap on a pair of snowshoes, rent skis, or enjoy a cup of cocoa by the fire.
