Muskie girls come close at OFSAA

The Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team came close to winning a few sets but ultimately finished with three losses on the first day of the all-Ontario championship in Dryden.

Facing Embrun in their third and final match of the day, the black-and-gold lost the first set by a narrow 25-23 margin before dropping the second one 25-16.

Yesterday afternoon, Fort High just missed a victory against Kingsville. After losing the first set 25-14, the Muskies stormed back in the second before coming up just short in a 26-24 loss.

They had opened action yesterday morning with a two-game sweep in their best-of-three match with Lo-Ellen Park, falling 25-12 before losing by a more respectable 25-20 score.

The Muskies wrapped up preliminary round play this morning against Penetanguishene (the outcome was not known by press time).

Only the top four teams in each pool advance to the playoff round.
