Student leaders to be lauded

They also have taken on other measures to beautify the school and to share the “Leader In Me” message.
“Working during the nutrition breaks . . . they have taken increasing responsibility for the planning and location of the various displays,” noted a report to the board.
Plans also are in the works for more elaborate displays, such as a wall mural and ceiling display.
Full implementation of the Crossroads “Leader In Me” program began in the fall.
Classes developed their own classroom mission statement incorporating the 7 Habits of Highly-Effective People.
“The ‘Leaders of Hallway Pride’ team has been a key component in the launching of the ‘Leader In Me’ program and ensuring that students think about leadership every time they walk the hallways of the school,” the report indicated.
“For their continued effort, they are deserving recipients of the board’s ‘Recognition of Excellence,’” it added.
Also at tonight’s meeting, the board will:
•hear a presentation on a numeracy initiative;
•approve three policies for stakeholder consultation; and
•hear several reports from committees.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the board office.

Students participating in the “Leaders of Hallway Pride” team, as part of the “Leader In Me” program at Crossroads School in Devlin, will receive the Rainy River District School Board’s monthly Recognition of Excellence at its regular meeting tonight.
The “Leaders of Hallway Pride” team is one of the most active Leadership Teams at the school.
