Lakers get key win in Dryden

After trading goals in the opening period, the Lakers scored three times in the second to take the lead for good.
The Ice Dogs outshot the Lakers 14-4 over the final 20 minutes but goalie Talor Joseph stood tall to preserve the win.
Tyler Brodersen, Alex Bruess, Jacob Nolan, and Brendan Cawston scored for the Lakers while defenceman Owen Stauber chipped in with a pair of assists.
Chris Sitko and Rory Court replied for the Ice Dogs.
Fort Frances and Dryden now are tied for second in the SIJHL with 53 points, although the Lakers do hold three games in hand.
The Lakers return to action Saturday when they’ll host the Minnesota Iron Rangers at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.

The Fort Frances Lakes have had trouble beating the Dryden Ice Dogs over the past couple of months.
But the Lakers shook that monkey off their back last night at the Dryden Memorial Arena, doubling the host Ice Dogs 4-2.
