George Chuvalo, the former Canadian heavyweight boxing champion, will be at Couchiching on Wednesday to give a free public presentation about drug abuse.
Chuvalo speaks from personal experience, having lost three sons and his wife as a result of substance abuse.
The heavyweight champ from 1958-79, Chuvalo now travels extensively, giving his talk “Fight Against Drugs.”
The public is invited to attend his presentation at 7 p.m., which will be preceded by a free community supper at 5:30 p.m. at the Couchiching multi-use facility.
The event is presented by the Rainy River District Substance Abuse Prevention Team (Northwestern Health Unit) in conjunction with Oh-Shki-Be-Ma-Te-Ze-Win, Fort Frances High School, and Couchiching First Nation.
