Fort High’s hopes for an extended soccer post-season were dashed at the NorWOSSA playoffs yesterday in Dryden.
The boys lost their semi-final match 3-1 to the host Eagles yesterday morning.
The black-and-gold trailed 2-0 with just minutes left in regulation time before scoring to draw within one—only to quickly allow a third goal by Dryden to seal the outcome.
The girls’ team, meanwhile, which had earned a bye to the final, lost to the host Eagles on penalty kicks yesterday afternoon.
Keeper Taylor Meyers backstopped the Muskies to a scoreless draw after regulation time and then thorugh two 10-minute halves of sudden-death overtime,
But the home side won easily on penalty kicks as Fort High still was unable to find the back of the net.
Both the boys’ and girls’ squads had split their pair of regular-season matches against the Eagles, in addition to a tie each in exhibition play.
