Accident leads to charges

Shortly after 3 a.m. on yesterday, on off-duty member of the Rainy River District OPP came upon a motor-vehicle accident on the 400 block of King’s Highway in Fort Frances.
On-duty officers were called and responded to the scene.

As a result of an investigation, Ryan Windego, 18, of Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation was charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg, and possession of marijuana.
He will appear in court here Feb. 19.
Members of the public are urged to report impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1 in emergency situations.
