Council, town to honour Tibbs

Other business on tonight’s agenda includes:
•a contribution agreement under the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund Program for energy and facility upgrades to the Memorial Sports Centre;
•service agreements for plumbing, electrical, heating, and ventilation maintenance (three-year term) and carpenter maintenance (one-year term)-RFQ-12-of-13;
•land leases for private aircraft hangars;
•a new policy (Integrated Accessibility Standards and Multi-Year Accessibility Plan);
•changes in council meeting dates in 2013;
•a recommendation re: the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
•a report re: Provincial Offences Act write-off request.
•out-of-town meeting travel claims for Mayor Roy Avis and Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig;
•the appointment of a new Deputy Chief Building Official (a bylaw to rescind the appointment of F. Flatt as Deputy Chief Building Official and a second bylaw to appoint Travis Rob as Deputy Chief Building Official);
•a bylaw to approve an agreement with the City of Dryden for the provision by Fort Frances of internal audit services of Dryden’s Drinking Water Quality Management System;
•a presentation from S. Mason, director of Economic and Community Development with the International Falls Economic Development Authority, re: a joint proclamation to celebrate International Borders Day (July 2, 2013); and
•a letter of resignation from Marnie Cumming from the Fort Frances Public Library Board, effective immediately.

Council and town staff will take time to share their reflections on the late Deputy Mayor Sharon Tibbs during tonight’s regular meeting.
Tibbs, who passed away last Wednesday, had served on council for a total of 16 years.
