Rash of accidents

Members of the Rainy River District OPP responded to 16 motor-vehicle collisions from Dec. 24-29.
Many of the accidents occurred as a result of drivers failing to adjust their driving habits to meet weather and road conditions.

Drivers are reminded that it is of the utmost importance to drive to the current weather conditions.
With above-seasonal temperatures during the day and freezing overnight, roads become slippery.
This fact requires drivers to adjust speed, as well as account for longer stopping distances and less traction.
Aggressive and unsafe driving can be reported to the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
To assist investigations of this type, please try to provide a licence plate number if you are able.
