Clifford William Slowe, 95, of Bears Pass, Ont., passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 after a brief illness.
Clifford was born Dec. 25, 1917 in Aitken, Mn.
He had served in WWII as a torpedo man aboard the USS Trippe. After the war, his career took him from the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas to Northwestern Ontario, where he worked as a bush pilot, ironworker, guide, minnow catcher, and all around jack-of-all-trades.
A longstanding member of the Minnesota Masons, Clifford spent the last 30 years living on Rainy Lake in a paradise at Bears Pass.
He was a man of few words who could do anything, and achieved everything he set out to do. He was much-loved, and will be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Kathy (Pete) and his much-loved granddaughter, Amy; son, Ben (Mary); sisters, Betty (Dick), Helen, and Cora; and special friend, Terry Kielczewski and wife, Kathy.
He was predeceased by his parents; son, William; brother, Bennie; and sisters, Marion, Lorraine, and Dorothy.
Cremation has taken place and at this time there will be no service.
