Township of Emo Draft Official Plan and Draft Zoning By-law
TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Township of Emo will hold a joint statutory public meeting in order to consider revisions to the Final Draft Official Plan and Final Draft Zoning By-law pursuant to the requirements of Sections 17 (16), 26 (3) and 34 (12) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended. The Statutory Public Meeting will be held as the first item of business at a special meeting of Council on Tuesday, February
5th at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Emo-LaVallee Community located at 78 Colonization Street in Emo, ON.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Emo is undertaking the legislated five year review of its Official Plan
and Zoning By-law as required by the Planning Act. As part of the review, the Township is seeking input from the public on revisions to the Final Draft Official Plan and Final Draft Zoning By-law. The revised Official Plan and Zoning By-law will have the effect of replacing the current Official Plan and Zoning By-law, which will be repealed.
NOTIFICATION OF ADOPTION: If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law, you must make a written request to the Township of Emo at the address listed at the end of this notice. At minimum, please provide your name, address and postal code in your request.
REPRESENTATION: If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Emo before the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law are adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Emo to the Ontario Municipal Board.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Emo before the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law are adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
As of Wednesday, December 19th, 2012, copies of the Final Draft Official Plan and Zoning By-law and the
Background Report will be available for inspection during regular office hours at the Township’s Office located
at 39 Roy Street, and for download from the Township’s website: http://www.emo.on.ca on the “Home” page.
