It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Pearl Marie Wardman, 93, on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Pearl was born Aug. 19, 1919 in Toulin, Man. to the late Edward and Maude Fullerton. She moved to the North Branch, Ont. area, where she lived and raised her children. She later moved to Fort Frances, where she had lived for more than 50 years.
Pearl was an avid reader who also enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, and was very talented at quilting. She had worked as an RNA at the Fort Frances Clinic until her retirement in 1974.
She was united in marriage to William Wardman, who predeceased her. She also was predeceased by her brother, Ted Fullerton, and son-in-law, Carman Nielson.
Pearl is survived by her children, Louise Neilson of Fort Frances, Ont., Roma (Donald) Madill of Fort Frances, Ont., Carol (Bob) Barrell of Quebec, and Clarke Wardman of Kelowna, B.C.
Also surviving is her special nephew, Don (Sheila) Lougheed; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
At Pearl’s request, cremation will take place.
A funeral mass to celebrate Pearl’s life will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Frances Pudicherry officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of Pearl’s grandchildren, the “Sew-and-Sews,” and her guardian angel, Eileen Klymko.
