It is with great sadness that the family of Ken O’Neill announces his passing on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born June 21, 1937 in Pinewood, Ont.
Ken is survived by his wife, Helen O’Neill; son, Doug Moldowan (Claire); daughters, Jo-Ann Gosselin (Kim) and Stacy O’Neill; grandchildren, Trace, Kennedi, Danny (Chrissie), and Giselle; and great-grandchildren, Tristan and Alice.
He also is survived by his sister, Gerry (Walter) Code; brothers, Walter (Lois) O’Neill, Jack (Ev) O’Neill, and Laurie O’Neill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Rodrick and Annie O’Neill; sisters, Donna Spalton and Edna Pennarun; and brothers-in-law, Phil Spalton and Henry Pennarun.
Ken enjoyed golfing and fishing in the summer, and bowling in the winter. But his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
Ken worked for CN Rail when he was 19 and then joined the local paper mill, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Friends may visit one hour prior to service.
Interment will take place at Blue Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Norman Seltzer, Ray Seltzer, Les Seltzer, Al Johnason, John Tkachyk, Kim Gosselin, and Brian Hall.
