OPP seize cigarettes

Kenora OPP stopped the driver of a 1997 Blazer for a traffic violation yesterday at 10 a.m. on Highway 17A in the City of Kenora.
While dealing with the occupants, the officer identified they were transporting a quantity of unmarked cigarettes.

The two males were arrested and taken to detachment, along with 42,000 unmarked cigarettes at a value of $9,000.
A 39 year-old man from Whitestone, Ont. and a 44-year-old Lindsay, Ont. man were charged with possession of unmarked cigarettes contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act.
Both will attend court in Kenora in January.
