Jeannine Shine, 66, of Devlin, Ont., passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. after a courageous four-year battle.
Jeannine was born Dec. 4, 1945 in Fort Frances to George and Helen Chabot. She was united in marriage to Harvey Shine on Aug. 17, 1963.
She was active with the Fort Frances Special Olympics for many years, serving as a coach for the bowling and swim teams. Jeannine also was one of the founding members of the Devlin T.O.P.S. chapter, and always loved attending the Saturday night races at the Emo Speedway.
She also always looked forward to the Wednesday afternoon coffee breaks at the Emo Christian Reformed Church.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Harvey, of 48 years of Devlin, Ont.; children Charlene (Bill) Nicolson of Fort Frances, Ont., Chris (Trudy) of Devlin, Ont., and Connie (Jerry) Angus of Assiniboine, Alta.; and her grandchildren, Donald, James, Jessica (Tyler), Christa, Wes, and Jack.
Jeannine also is survived by her brother, Jerry (Diane) Chabot of Winnipeg, Man.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A time of fellowship was held Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. at the Devlin Hall.
Interment will take place at a later date.
