Chamber holding election

A high number of people interested in filling the four vacancies on its board of directors means the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has to hold an election.
Nominees on the ballot, which were sent out to Chambers members yesterday, include:

•Rick Smith (Canadian Tire);
•Paul Noonan (La Place Rendez-Vous);
•Marie Allan (BDO Dunwoody & Company LLP);
•Mike Vanderwater (Acklands-Grainger Inc.);
•Stephanie Wrolstad (CIBC);
•Steve MacNeil (Rainy Lake Tribal Contracting); and
•Jennifer Greenhalgh (NCDS).
Chamber members are asked to return their ballot to the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce on or before Friday, Dec. 7.
The four elected will join directors Chris Benz (TD Canada Trust), Lisa Plourde (RBC), Steve Gushulak (Fort Frances General Supply), Jennifer Horton (The UPS Store), and Travis Glowasky (Studio Gibbous).
The 2013 executive consists of president Mark Caron (M.L. Caron Electric), first vice-president Leo Melanson (93.1 The Border), second vice-president Robin Payeur (Causeway General Insurance), treasurer Myles Kuharski (Gillons’ Insurance Broker’s Ltd.), past-president Cathy Emes (NCDS), and second past-president Christine Denby (Gillons’ Insurance Broker’s Ltd.)
Appointed members include Coun. John Albanese (Town of Fort Frances), Angela Halvorsen (RRFDC), BIA rep Mike Tullio (Nirvana), and Gord Winik (Resolute Forest Products).
Jane Gillon (Ministry of Northern Development and Mines) is an ex-officio member of the Chamber board.
