Laura Belle Coulson, 94, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at her residence in Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., where she has been well cared for by the loving and professional staff.
She was born May 31, 1917 and lived all her life in Rainy River District.
Mom met and married Raymond Coulson on June 7, 1934 and enjoyed 39 years together. They had 10 children and lived on the Coulson farm in Burriss Township.
Our mother was a gentle person, eager to please and help all that may be in need.
She cooked at many tourist camps over the years–enjoying many friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her sewing skills also have showed up in many homes around the district. The wealth of her God-given talent is evident in all the homes of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Each of us have some of her special treasurers made over the years.
Daddy passed away on Jan. 25, 1973, Anna Doreen in 1938, and Loretta Iris in 1943 (both in infancy).
Laura also was predeceased by her parents, Lewis Roulston and Lyda Rodriquez; stepfather, Albert Rodriquez; brother, Walter, sister, Gertie, and brother, Fred and their spouses; daughter-in-law, Lynda Coulson; sons-in-law, Melvin Shine and Paul Beaurivage; grandchildren, Albert Beaurivage, and Michael Rogers; and great-great-granddaughter, Rhiannah Gosselin.
She is survived by her children, Lois, Bonnie (Fred), Dolly (Glen), Raymond Dale (Barb), Dona (Herman), Janet, Allan (Sally), and Bev (Gordon); and all of Gram’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
No service will be held at this time. A family celebration of her life will happen in May when all of her children can be home.
Cremation has taken place at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
