WILLIAM LORNE STANG

William (Billy) Stang passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River, Ont.

He was born Oct. 30, 1928 in North Branch, Ont. to William and Myrtle Stang.

Bill had many jobs, including guiding at the lake, diamond drilling, and farming, but his main occupation was logging.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; daughters, Laurie (Alex), Susan (Don), Jan (Robert), and Lois (Rob); eight grandchildren, Robin (Michelle) Anderson, Ryan (Alicia) Anderson, Melanie (Jeff) Kreger, Katie (Ashley) Prosak, Tara (Dale) Jerry, Jessica (Leo) Barahona, Patrick Brischke, and Chelsea Horley; and 11 great grandchildren, William, Caitlin, Meagan, Madison, Emily, Braydon, Morgan, Avery, Chase, Kylynn, and Karsyn.

Bill also is survived by his brother, Wilmer (Marjorie) Stang; sister, Kay Neilson; brother-in-law, Bradley Haw; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Berg, Grace Stang, and Elaine Wilson.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Myrtle; stepfather, Cliff Berg; brothers, George Stang and Dale Berg; sister, Edith Haw; and brothers-in-law, Art Neilson and Pud Wilson.

Bill will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends. They will forever remember the smile on his face and the twinkle in his eyes every time he greeted them.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.

A reception followed at the Millennium Hall in Stratton, Ont.

Interment took place in Pine Ridge Cemetery in North Branch.
