Muskie pucksters split

The Muskie hockey teams had the proverbial mixed bags of results Tuesday as both took on the Kenora Broncos in NorWOSSA action.
The boys’ squad improved to 2-0 on the young season with a wild 8-7 win in Kenora.

After taking a 3-1 lead in the first period, and pushing that cushion to 8-4 after 40 minutes, the black-and-gold withstood a late comeback bid by the Broncos to remain unbeaten.
Scoring details were not avaliable.
Earlier in the day, the Muskie girls suffered their first league loss as they were blanked 4-0 by the Broncos here.
That game was a rematch of the final of Fort High’s annual tournament back on Nov. 4, which Kenora won 3-2.
Maddie Trudeau led the Broncos with a goal and an assist while Ainsley Lindquist, Jodi Melillo, and Eve Charlebois also beat Muskie goalie Calie Clendenning.
Becca Mahon earned the shutout for Kenora.
Both Muskie teams now are preparing for tournaments this weekend, with the girls travelling to Buffalo, Mn. while the boys head up to Dryden.
