Marie Louise Brigham, of Chapple Township, Ont., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 84.
Mary Lou was born in Amonines, Belgium on May 9, 1927.
On April 17, 1946, she married Milford Brigham, whom she had met while he was serving in the Canadian armed forces in Belgium. They relocated to Rainy River District with their three children in 1952.
Mary Lou had a great love for music, her flower gardens, and her Boston terrier dogs.
She is survived by her children, Fran (Linda) of Fort Frances, Ont., Andy (Dawn) of Chapple Township, Ont., Glen (Kari) of Rainy River, Ont., Bruce (Mary Ellen) of Chapple Township, Ont., Margaret (August) Olsen of Brandon, Man., and Nelly Ewen of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and son in-law, Gerald Lougheed of Chapple Township, Ont.
Mary Lou also will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milford (1998); and her daughter, Laura Lougheed (2009).
A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emo, Ont., with Fr. Alan Albao as celebrant.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with vigil prayers at 7 p.m.
Interment will take place in the Barwick Cemetery in Barwick, Ont.
The pallbearers will be Doug McNally, Glen Brigham Jr., Russ Lougheed, Andrew Brigham, Nathan Brigham, and Ryan Brigham.
