Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.

Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through his servant, Carol.

Carol Virginia Rogoza was given life by her Creator and was born on April 15, 1941 in Fort Frances, Ont., the child of Walter and Elizabeth Hinrichs.

On Sept. 14, 1941, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On May 4, 1958, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood.

On Aug. 27, 1960, she received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, Nelson Rogoza.

She was blessed with the gift of children, Nelson and Grant (Renee), all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Lindsey (Mellisa) of Atikokan, Ont.; and grandchildren, Daniel of Thunder Bay, Ont., Aaron and David of Dryden, Ont., Cassandra and Reed of Atikokan, Ont., Michael of Fort Frances, Ont., and Mark of International Falls, Mn.

She also was blessed with her brothers, Ernie (Joan) Hinrichs, Rod (Faith) Hinrichs, and Gerald (Dorothy) Hinrichs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Rogoza, on Jan. 17, 2009; her father, Walter Hinrichs, on Sept. 6, 2003; and her granddaughter, Ashlee Rogoza, on April 22, 1990.

God blessed Carol’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. She was a Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years and chairperson for a number of years for the Christian Education Committee.

She enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, and feeding the birds.

God blessed Carol with a holy death and took her home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 to rest in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Lutheran Hour in Fort Frances. Rev. Jacob Quast will officiate, followed by interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.

Friends may visit with family on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Green Funeral home in Fort Frances.

Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.

The pallbearers will be Rod Hinrichs, Gerald Hinrichs, Mike Hughes, Natalie Hughes, Aaron Rogoza, and Daniel Rogoza.

The honourary pallbearers will be members of her church congregation.
