Meyer lands award

Captain Merritt Rysavy and goalie Tanner Hamilton both received the accolade last month.
The Lakers are back in action tonight when they host the Dryden Ice Dogs at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
The squad also is expected to welcome back forward Colton Spicer and defenceman Jon Carlson tonight.
Both players came up short in making the Canada West team for the upcoming World Jr. ‘A’ Challenge during a training camp in Calgary earlier this week.

Fort Frances Lakers’ forward Mason Meyer earned the SIJHL’s player-of-the-week award for the week ending Oct. 28.
Meyer, an 18-year-old from International Falls, had two goals and five assists during three-straight Laker wins that vaulted the team into second place in the standings.
