Resolute, which trades on TSX, NYSE, delays release of third-quarter results
MONTREAL — Resolute Forest Products says it has postponed the release of its third-quarter financial results until Friday due to hurricane Sandy.
The Montreal-based forestry company (NYSE: RFP) (TSX: RFP) had originally planned to release the results on Tuesday.
Resolute trades on both the New York Stock Exchange and the TSX.
Some U.S. companies, including Pfizer Inc. and Thomson Reuters, also postponed quarterly earnings reports scheduled for release early this week.
Resolute Forest Products, which changed its name from AbitibiBowater, produces newsprint, commercial printing papers, market pulp and wood products.
The company owns or operates 21 pulp and paper mills and 22 wood products mills in Canada, the United States and South Korea.
Shares in the company closed up 1.6 per cent or 19 cents at $12.39 Monday on the TSX.
