Quiet on fire scene

Meanwhile, no new fires have been confirmed since Thursday, when one was reported in Fort Frances District and another in Kenora District.
Both posed no control problems and are now “out.”
As fall weather continues, the forest fire hazard remains “low” across the region, where it is forecast to remain for the next several days.
The total number of fires to date in the region is now 663, charring 97,708.2 hectares in all.

The number of fires in the Northwest Region continues to decrease, with the total dipping from 18 on Friday afternoon to 11 as of this morning.
Three of these fires are located in Quetico Provincial Park, where they continue to be observed.
