Lakers set to honour Leclair tonight
Friday, 12 October 2012 - 1:21pm
As well, the Lakers will wear decals with Leclair’s initials on the back of their helmets for the rest of the season.
While there had been a push from former teammates and fans to have Leclair’s #7 jersey retired, his family has said they would like to see that number kept on the ice.
First-year blueliner Owen Stauber is wearing the #7 uniform this season.
Leclair had 33 goals and 43 assists in 124 games during his stint with the Lakers, and was a key player in the squad’s run to the SIJHL final this past spring.

The Fort Frances Lakers will pay their respects to one of their own at the Ice For Kids Arena tonight as they remember former forward Jaret Leclair, who was killed in a car accident Sunday night.
There will be a moment of silence during the opening ceremonies in honour of the 20-year-old Leclair, who suited up for the Lakers for three seasons, prior to the game against the Minnesota Wilderness.
