Locum house fundraiser slated
Wednesday, 26 September 2012 - 3:36pm
What better way to celebrate than a hearty homestyle supper, with a chance to take home a pie prepared by some of the best cooks in the country!
Meanwhile, construction of the Rainy River Locum House by John Sinninghe Contracting reached a milestone last week with the foundations completed and back-filled and the floor in place.
Over the next days and weeks, the walls and roof will be going up and the exterior will be all closed in before winter weather is upon us.
It is well to remind ourselves how this investment in our community will work. This is a rental house that will provide a permanent, comfortable, attractive residence for physicians working as locums in our community.
It is not a freebie for our permanent physicians, as some gossips would have you believe.
By having this facility available, we help ensure that not only do we have a steady supply of locums to assist our permanent physicians service our health care needs, but we provide that positive environment that enhances our ability to recruit future permanent physicians to our town.
So watch the locum house go up and come out on Sunday, Oct. 21 to celebrate your successful project at the harvest supper.
