Salon to cut kids’ hair as benefit for preemie
Friday, 14 September 2012 - 12:49pm
“We know how tough it can be and just wanted to be able to help them out, pay it forward,” Wood explained.
Wood and husband, Travis, experienced a similar situation this summer when their son, Liam, arrived seven weeks early.
They also had to stay in stay in Winnipeg for several weeks.
“We’re hoping everyone will come out and offer their support,” Wood expressed.
The $10 children’s haircuts will be available for kids 12 and under and for walk-ins only.
While they had original hoped to have a barbeque to go along with the event, due to unforeseen planning issues they’ve had to cancel that portion of the benefit.
“But it will still be a lot of fun and is for a good cause,” she added.
There is also a benefit dinner planned for the family on Sept. 22 at the Emo Legion.
A full roast beef dinner with all the trimmings begins at 5 p.m., with the band Centre-Line taking the stage at 8 p.m.
There will also be a silent auction and a shuttle service available.
Tickets cost $15 in advance and can be purchased at Causeway Insurance, the Emo Legion, and from their families.
