Wednesday, 12 September 2012 - 12:29pm
“Todd comes to us with 20 years of human resources management experience and has also served as a councillor with the Town of Fort Frances, where he served as a past member of the Physician Recruitment Committee, a member and chair of the Fort Frances Community Clinic, and a member of the Riverside Foundation,” said recruitment committee chairman Dr. Jason Shack.
“He is also exceptionally proud to be a survivor contact for the Canadian Cancer Society.”
Hamilton was born in Thunder Bay but grew up in Fort Frances, attending Fort Frances High School.
He also has a business degree in marketing and management from Bemidji State University.
He is married to Jody Hamilton, a special education teacher.
They have a son, Jack, who attends Fort High and plays for the Muskie hockey team, and a daughter, Lauren, who is a super-reader and an avid hockey player.
“I am definitely looking forward to working with all the partners to address our current challenges,” said Hamilton.
“I’m grateful for the trust and confidence the committee has shown in me,” he added. “I feel that all my previous experiences have prepared me for this position.
“It’s about building relationships that allow us to successfully recruit to our great community.
“The needs of every physician coming here are unique in nature, and that’s something we will be reviewing on an ongoing basis with our partners to help ensure that Fort Frances is their hands-down first choice,” Hamilton stressed.
On behalf of the committee, Dr. Shack also thanked Lampi-Hughes for her efforts over the past year.
“Her efforts to establish a recruitment program have helped us create the right conditions for success,” he noted.
The Physician Recruitment Committee consists of municipal representatives from the Town of Fort Frances, Nelson Medicine Professional Corp., the Fort Frances Community Clinic, and Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.
It also features participation from Resolute Forest Products, the Rainy River District School Board, the Northwest Catholic District School Board, and the Rainy River Future Development Corp.
