OPP seeking female, aboriginal recruits

The Rainy River District OPP is pleased to announce a recruitment workshop will be held in Fort Frances designed to encourage women and aboriginal people to consider a career in policing.
“Pathway to Policing” will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Confederation College campus in Fort Frances (adjacent to the high school and Townshend Theatre).

The OPP recognizes that with today’s diversity, it is imperative that the OPP represents the clients it serves.
The event will be host to several OPP keynote speakers, including a recruitment officer, a technical traffic crash investigator/reconstructionist, general patrol officers, and supervisors, as well as hearing from specialty units.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain insight into career opportunities with the OPP, speak directly to police officers, and ask questions about a variety of policing experiences and understand what it is like to serve Ontario as an OPP officer.
To register, contact Cst. Anne McCoy at anne.mccoy@ontario.ca or by calling 1-800-274-3322 ext. 3455.
You must meet the minimum requirement for constable in order to register.
