River research being presented
Thursday, 12 July 2012 - 1:16pm
The public is welcome to attend.
“A number of people were asking questions in regards to the project, so that is why we are having the event,” noted club vice-president Brad Houghton.
“From what we have been told, Jeff is going to be explaining the project, what he has found so far, and what he hopes to find,” Houghton added.
“And he’ll be able to answer any questions that people ask.”
The group has been here since the spring to work on their study.
They also were involved in checking all of the fish that were caught during the Emo Walleye Classic back in May.

A University of Waterloo researcher will speak here tonight about a project he’s currently involved with on the Rainy River.
Jeff Muirhead, who is working with fellow Waterloo students, will discuss how fluctuations in the river affect downstream fisheries health, including spawning and adult habitat suitability.
