Holiday weekend volleyball tournament deemed success

“Everything went ahead of schedule as well, as it took about 30 minutes to get through each of the games, so everything went along rather quickly,” she added.
As for the event itself, it would be The Sandy Beavers who capture the tournament title, as the team of Wilson-Hands, Meghan Bourgeouis, Allison Hyatt, Adrian Champman, and Anthony Roberts, defeated The Dragons in three sets.
“It was a great championship game that could have gone either way,” Wilson-Hands said.
“It was close throughout, and that was basically what it was like here all weekend,” she added.
Wilson-Hands may put together another event later this summer at Pither’s Point, but nothing has been decided as of this point in time.
“We will have to check and make sure what is best for everyone that will be involved,” she noted.

The expansion of the annual Canada Day beach volleyball tournament from a one-day event into a two-day affair proved to the perfect move for the fourth edition of the Fun in the Sun beach volleyball tournament at Pither’s Point Park on Saturday and Sunday.
“The format was well received by the 12 teams that participated, and it made for not as long of a day on July 1,” event organizer Amy Wilson-Hands explained.
