Weekend volleyball tourney set to go

“We’ve also had the number of teams increased from this year to last year,” event organizer Amy Wilson-Hands noted.
“Last year we had 10 teams taking part, but this year we’ve added another two teams, which should make the competition that much better,” she added.
The round-robin play in both Pools A and B, which have six teams in each group, will continue until 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, before getting back underway at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Following the last pool game at 6:20 p.m., the semifinals will get underway later on Sunday evening, with the finals following soon after.

Over the course of the last three years, the annual Fun in the Sun four on four beach volleyball tournament has become one of the most popular events during the Canada Day festivities in Fort Frances, and this year will be no exception.
For the first time, the four-on-four event will be a two-day event, with the first game getting underway at 1 p.m. at Pither’s Point Park.
