Braves, Blue Knights fighting for RRDFL lead

The Braves will be having their second meeting with the Big Island Huskies tomorrow before hosting Beef’s Warriors on Tuesday night.
As for the Blue Knights, they will be taking on the Warriors this Thursday evening in Couchching, before hosting a contest with Big Island on Tuesday.
Making up the rest of the top half of the league table are Beef’s Warriors (8-2), Big Island Huskies (7-4) Sight & Sound Wolves (6-3-1), and the Rainy River Royals (6-5).
Rounding out the standings are the Stratton Eagles (5-6), Sabaskong Cubs (4-7), Northwest Bay Chieftains (3-8), Couchching (3-8), Sabaskong Lakers (2-9), and the Manitou Thunderbirds (1-9).
Other games that are on the schedule for Thursday sees the Cubs hosting the Royals, the Wolves traveling to Stratton, Manitou taking on Couchching, and Northwest Bay going up against the Lakers.
On Tuesday, Rainy River will welcome Stratton to their home field, Sight & Sound will host the Cubs, the Lakers will travel to Couchching, and Northwest Bay will take on Manitou.
Also next Thursday, the league will host their annual all-star game in Rainy River, with the process to select the players for both teams currently underway.
The regular season schedule will conclude on Thursday, July 19, with the double-knockout playoffs starting up on Tuesday, July 24.

With the Rainy River District Fastball League starting its second half last night, the rest of the league now know what two teams they will have to knock off if they want to have the top seed entering the postseason.
While the results of last night’s games were not known as of press time, the Big Grassy Braves entered the night’s play with the top record in a league with a 9-1 mark, with the Barwick Blue Knights laying close behind with a 9-2 record.
