Man busted for possession of drugs

A 29 year-old Fort Frances man has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
On Sunday, June 17, officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Rainy River District Detachment conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 11 just east of Fort Frances, Ontario.

Donald King, 29, was a male passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
As a result of police investigation, police seized 18.5 Percocet pills.
King was arrested and charged.
A first court appearance has been set for July 23 at the Fort Frances Provincial Court.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, June 19, OPP received a complaint of vehicles speeding in the area of Eighth Street in Fort Frances.
As a result, officers have contacted companies in the vicinity of Eighth Street to have them remind their employees to travel the speed limit and be aware of the complaint.
In addition, officers have been conducting radar patrol in the area.
And on Monday, June 18, police received information that a female was driving a vehicle without a licence and on her way to Fort Frances.
Officers located the vehicle and charged a 27 year-old female of Couchiching First Nation with Driving without a Licence contrary to Section 32(1) of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Upon conviction, this particular fine carries a penalty of $260 plus a victim’s services fee of $60.
