Man tried to flee police on dirt bike

Disregarding the police emergency lights, the driver of the bike continued onto Third Street East through a construction zone, onto Fourth Street and then onto Fifth Street.
Officers caught up to the driver at a residence at the 1100 block of Fifth Street East and continued their investigation.
As a result, the driver was charged with numerous criminal driving offences including Flight from Police Officer, Dangerous Driving and Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
In addition, he was charged with Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The accused will appear in court on Monday July 16, 2012 in Fort Frances.

At 1:25 a.m. on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Rainy River District Detachment officers charged a 20 year-old Fort Frances male with several driving offences as a result of him operating a dirt bike within the Fort Frances municipality in a reckless manner.
While on patrol, police observed the driver operating the bike dangerously in the area of Portage Avenue and activated their emergency lights but the driver evaded police and failed to stop.
