Speaker touts ‘Eat Clean’
Tosca Reno’s “Eat Clean” event here Friday brought renewed vitality and inspiration to the Fort Frances community and residents of Rainy River District, as well as area First Nations’ people.
Guests enjoyed Reno’s friendly rapport, encouragement towards healthy lifestyle changes, and the “Eating Clean” approach.
This event was made possible through the funding and sponsorship of the Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre.
A planning committee comprised of representatives from GHAC, the United Native Friendship Centre, Energy Fitness, and Valley Diabetes combined their efforts to make this educational experience a momentous occasion for all.
Supportive contributions from other local business and organizations for draws prizes were received.
After committee members attended one of Reno’s seminars, the value in having her as a guest speaker in the prevention of obesity and promotion of self-health management was recognized.
It was a successful event, with more than 275 active participants, who enjoyed a motivational talk by Reno, two fitness classes, and a healthy cooking demonstration.
