Emergency services in spotlight

Fire safety and more will be in the spotlight this Saturday (May 12) during “Emergency Services Day” at Canadian Tire here.
The event will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the parking lot there, as well as inside the store.

The Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service will be there with its new hazardous materials (hazmat) trailer, along with the mobile command centre and fire safety displays.
There also will be draw prizes, such as a kids’ bike and fire safety prize packs, and plenty of new giveaways.
As well, the town’s Community Emergency Management Group, which takes charge locally during natural disasters and other emergencies, will be represented there, along with the Red Cross, and possibly the Ministry of Natural Resources fire management program.
