As a reminder to all of us, it is written:
“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.” (Deuteronomy 5:11)
But it is also written:
“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.” (Malachi 4:2)

I am writing in response to Kathryn Pierroz’s letter to the editor printed in the Jan. 11 edition of the Times.

This is the exact reason
This is the exact reason that we have a hard time in our community getting intelligent young people to move to our area. This isn't about some people in this town like Cornelia Gerber-Nydegger being dinosaurs and needing to modernize their ideals and values when it comes to living in the 21st century, it's about a hateful Religious zealots who was allowed to waste space in our town paper. The letter above is far worse than the letter it is addressing, which doesn't even use God's name in a bad way. This paper should be ashamed for even giving this space.
Not giving space for certain people
You want to restrict Cornelia, and yet want the freedom to express your own views. You can't have it both ways! You must either uphold free speech, or else take steps to silence everyone who disagrees with you. It seems that you have chosen the latter. So don't complain if the day comes in which someone else silences YOU, labelling YOU as a hateful anti-religious bigot.F!!K!
