“Since its inception in 1995, Lund Boats and Pinewood Sports, the Lund dealer in Fort Frances, have been important major sponsors supporting this community event,” he added.
“Tournament fishing remains a critical facet of [the] Lund Boat Company,” said Lund marketing manager Tony Kolker.
“Many of the performance innovations that are incorporated into today’s boats are direct descendants of input from professional tournament fishermen.
“We are happy to continue our association with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship,” he added.
The 2010 tournament will take place July 18-24, with weigh-ins being held at the Memorial Sports Centre this year.
Sproule said the new venue will add excitement each day, and it offered the tournament the opportunity to add new features to the show.
“We look forward to our participation at the weigh-in site by being able to showcase our exciting lineup of Lund Boats during the tournament,” he enthused.
“Pinewood Sports is excited to participate as a sponsor in the 16th-annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship,” said Bob Fichuk of Pinewood Sports.
“Pinewood Sports and Marine believes in the tournament, and we look forward to continuing the partnership of Pinewood Sports, Lund Boats, and the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship in its new location at the Memorial Sports Centre.”
FFCBC tournament favourites Jeff Gustafson, Denis Barnard, Al Lindner, James Lindner, and Alex and Darrell Keszler all depend on Lund Boats for their success in fishing tournaments.
“Lund Boat Company is an icon in tournament fishing in Northwestern Ontario and recreation fishing,” said FFCBC chairman Tom Fry.
“We are proud to again partner this year with Lund so that we can again showcase this terrific boat brand,” he remarked.
Lund Boats are manufactured in New York Mills, Mn.
The Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship is operated by a not-for-profit corporation organized with community volunteers.
