Call out for design inspiration
Wednesday, 10 March 2010 - 2:59pm
Starting with your photos and artwork inspiring “What Hooks You Here,” designs then will be created and transferred to linen, wool will be cut and dyed, and the “rugs” and materials will be circulated through the community to be hooked by anyone, young or old, who wants to take part.
The final product will be displayed, along with all the pieces—stories and art—that went into the creative process from idea to completion.
It’s something to think about when out and about with your family during March Break next week.
When on the lake ice-fishing, or spending an afternoon skiing or tobogganing with your family, take along a camera or sketch book, and bring back some images of what it is that hooks you here in the Rainy River District.
Be sure to include your children.
What hooks you here? Why are we living here, and why do we stay?
Photos and drawings can be dropped off at the Fort France Museum or e-mailed to ffmuseum@fort-frances.com
Be part of the initial design and submit by March 19.
For more information, contact the museum at 274-7891 or via e-mail at ffmuseum@fort-frances.com

Press release
The community project, “What Hooks You Here,” is looking for some inspiration in the form of colour photos or original artwork that will be used to create a working design.
If you haven’t heard, “What Hooks You Here” is a Community Arts and Heritage Education Project—an opportunity for individuals, school children, and community groups to collaborate together on several pieces of art.
The final product will be displayed, along with all the pieces—stories and art—that went into the creative process from idea to completion.
