Former resident pens books on natural healing

With the aim to share his insights gained over years of personal research on natural healing, a former Fort Frances resident has written a book called “Take Control of Your Health: How to Quickly, Safely, and Affordably Master the Art of Wellness.”
Craig Brockie, the son of Ted and Ruth Brockie who was born and raised in Fort Frances, was driven to study wellness after he started experiencing health problems like chronic pain and anxiety while in his early 20s.

Brockie began exploring holistic solutions to his health problems, and has spent more than a million dollars travelling the globe to try out dozens of therapies, ranging from naturopathic, homeopathic and osteopathic medicines to podiatry, acupuncture, biofeedback, and reflexology to yoga, meditation, timeline therapy, and hypnotism.
“I have definitely learned what I need to take control of my health,” Brockie, a 35-year-old retired Internet search engine marketer who now lives in West Vancouver, B.C. with his wife and two sons, said in a recent e-mail.
His recently-released book is a compilation of the most fundamental concepts he learned from each conventional and alternative therapy he studied.
“I was prompted by a sincere desire to help others and share what I know to be true,” said Brockie. “When it comes to health care, people are starving for the truth and choking on dogma.
“Too many people are needlessly suffering, and even dying, without knowing what all their options are,” he argued.
Brockie started researching 14 years ago. Three years ago, he wrote Chapter 1 of the book and made it available as a free download (www.CraigBrockie.com/TakeControl.pdf) to give people a sample of what to expect.
He completed the rest of the book last year, and it was published last month. The book is available through amazon.ca
The book covers topics such as:
•toxic buildup and ways to rinse out one’s insides;
•the effect of the mind on health and ways to reduce stress;
•oxygen therapies;
•acidosis and reducing acid in the body;
•bacteria, virus, and parasite elimination;
•understanding the role of diet, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants; and
•pain elimination and dealing with chronic conditions.
“The feedback from those who’ve read it has been positive,” said Brockie.
“Those who have tried the ‘Internal Body Wash’ [outlined in Chapter 1] confirm that it works and greatly increases their energy levels and sense of well-being,” he noted, referring to a simple procedure using herbal laxative tea and sea salt.
“The 24-Hour Liver Flush gains the interest of most readers,” Brockie added, referring to another procedure involving apple juice, Epsom salts, grapefruit or lemons, and nut, seed, or olive oil meant to remove gallstones to eliminate allergies and chronic pain.
“Beyond these two things, each person has their own health challenge and takes away what is important to them,” he explained.
“For instance, someone who struggles with their weight will be excited to learn they can reset their metabolism and keep the weight off for good; someone who has cancer will be excited to learn the many ways to handle that; someone suffering from anxiety or depression will be excited to learn how to overcome these challenges,” he cited.
In the introduction to “Take Control of Your Health,” Dr. Lorne Swetlikoff, president of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia, called the book “an excellent resource.”
“As a naturopathic doctor, I am encouraged when I see any work that introduces naturopathic treatment to a wider audience, and I am particularly pleased to see a book which looks at such a comprehensive rage of treatments while putting the information into a context that makes it helpful to the reader,” Dr. Swetlikoff wrote.
“This is a bold book which seeks to address illness with preconception,” he noted. “It looks from the patients’ perspective and asks the simple question: what works? It doesn’t ask what works according to one practitioner, but what works and what will improve the health of the patient.
“Craig has tried nearly all of the therapies within this book and with this experience, he identifies solutions with proven clinical results and offers them to you.”
“The book is intended for anyone who suffers from chronic pain/illness or questions the effectiveness or ethics of today’s health-care system,” noted Brockie, which he said may perhaps be better described as a disease maintenance system.
“If someone is unfamiliar with natural healing, I would tell them to try the safe and affordable health secrets presented in the book and you be the judge,” he remarked.
“And if you don’t want to risk a penny, read the free book extract found at CraigBrockie.com/TakeControl.pdf and you’ll soon know the truth.
“By tomorrow morning, you can be experiencing the profound effects of an Internal Body Wash and comfortably rinsing out your entire digestive tract with water,” he said.
The book reflects the culmination of years of research, but Brockie’s interest remains keen and said there certainly will be another one down the line.
“I definitely will be authoring more books and releasing newer editions of this one as more research is completed,” he pledged.
“I am passionate about this field and love helping others improve how they feel—my research is always ongoing.”
