Local curlers Jim Jackson, left, and Sandy Haney swept a rock into the house as skip Ken McKinnon looked on during the opening draw of the Northern Ontario Senior Men’s and Women’s Inter-region Playdowns (Region 1 & 2) last night at the Fort Frances Curling Club. The McKinnon rink fell 10-2 to Ken Anderson (Red Lake) but the local women’s entry, Judy LaBelle, opened with a 9-1 win over Marion Clark (Port Arthur).
