Raising awareness

Municipal planner Faye Flatt, also a board member with the Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River Districts, and Mayor Roy Avis unfurled the Alzheimer Society flag yesterday in preparation for it to be raised in front of the Civic Centre. January is “Alzheimer Awareness Month” in the Town of Fort Frances. Alzheimer Society events this month include the “Penny for Your Thoughts” weigh-in Jan. 22-23 at Canadian Tire here, the Linda Johnston Memorial roast beef dinner in Rainy River on Jan. 23, and the fifth-annual Chefs’ Charitable Dinner and Auction at the Adventure Inn on Jan. 24.
