OEB approves rate decrease for Natural Resource Gas Ltd.

TORONTO — Ontario consumers who heat their homes with gas from Natural Resource Gas Ltd. are expected to see their bills drop in the new year.
The Ontario Energy Board has approved changes to natural gas commodity and delivery rates charged by the company, starting Jan. 1.

Consumers’ bills will change depending on the amount of natural gas used, and type of consumer.
Residential consumers using 2,009 cubic metres a year who purchase their gas directly from Natural Resource Gas Ltd. will see an annual decrease of about $60.
The energy board says the quarterly rate adjustment reflects a decrease in the forecast average price of natural gas over the next 12 months.
The natural gas commodity price consumers will pay between Jan. 1 and March 31 is 35.9292 cents per cubic metre.
