Mothers and their infants both got a workout yesterday morning during the “Mommy and Me Yoga” program at Moss Yoga. The program is in its second-last class. However, another session for mommies with babies aged 0-1 is planned to start up again in the new year. The program was started by the Northwestern Health Unit here, and is intended to promote increased flexibility, core strength, calmness, and overall mental-wellness.

I did one session when my baby was about 6 weeks old. I had done pregnancy yoga and was curious to see what Baby yoga was.
My teacher told me to wait until you've had your 6 weeks check-up, it's safer for you. You don't want to strain a muscle or work too much on your uterus. 6 weeks is a good age for a baby too, they start to interact.
It was an induction class so it was very new for me, a lot of sitting down and stretching while baby looks at you with a grin.
Maybe I should have stayed for a few lessons but I thought the classes weren't very interesting. Babies aren't interested ...

You did the right thing. And taking your baby was tremendous for your bonding, not to say what it did for your body. Keep up the good work, your body and your baby will love you for it.
Bonding for older kids
This sounds like a great way to bond with little ones. Do you have suggestions on how to improve bonding with older children?
