Here’s to the future

Looking forward to a partnership that will see construction of a new library and technology centre start in April, “Building for the Future” campaign chair Mark Kowalchuk, middle, shared a few words at the site of the future facility on Friday before presenting Mayor Roy Avis, second from left, and deputy mayor Sharon Tibbs, far right, with a cheque for $825,096. Also pictured are library board member Arlene Georgeson, far left, and library board chair Joyce Cunningham, second from right. While the “Drive for 35” phone blitz held Sept. 22-26 aimed to raise $35,000 and bring the library campaign to its $750,000 goal, community support exceeded that total by more than $75,000.
