Season to give

Capt. Angel Sandoval of the Salvation Army pointed out how empty the shelves were Friday afternoon at the Citadel’s food bank. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, local residents are being asked to help the less fortunate and donate non-perishable food items. In related news, the public is invited to drop by the Citadel (316 Victoria Ave.) this Friday (Oct. 10) between noon-1:30 p.m. for a Thanksgiving lunch. Because space is limited, it will be a “first-come, first-served” gathering. Anyone who would like to help serve or cook can call the Salvation Army at 274-3871.
