Thunder Bay—Rainy River MP Ken Boshcoff called upon the Prime Minister yesterday to keep his promise and delay calling an election until the 23 recommendations of the Forestry Report have been implemented.
“It is irresponsible of Prime Minister Harper to go to the polls before ensuring that the Natural Resources committee report’s unanimous support is reflected through action by the relevant government departments,” stated Boshcoff.
“It took three years of hard work to get everyone to agree on this course of action, but it finally succeeded,” said Boshcoff. “I am very pleased with the input myself and witnesses from northwestern Ontario had in the process to ensure that the final recommendations will benefit our region and Canadian forest producers.”
Boshcoff was recognized by such organizations as the Forest Products Association of Canada for his instrumental work to bring together all parties, labour, and industry over the four-month hearing process.
Boshcoff is currently in Winnipeg attending a meeting of the National Liberal Caucus.
